Community support for West Liberty man deported to Guatemala

A young man who has called eastern Iowa home for seven years is now thousands of miles away in Guatemala. His case is sparking protests and raising questions about immigration enforcement in our state.

On today's Newsbuzz edition of River to River, we hear from the lawyer representing Pascual Pedro Pedro of West Liberty. We'll also hear hear about the University of Northern Iowa's new program to give in-state tuition to students from neighboring states and plenty more.

Neve Kelley is a 2025 summer intern with IPR's talk show team and a senior at Oberlin College studying English, environmental studies and education. She is originally from Peoria, Illinois. Some of her favorite things to do in Iowa include going to shows at Codfish Hollow and the Englert, visiting different coffee shops and taking yoga classes.
