There are numerous challenges facing public radio, independent media and all of journalism. In addition to our need for sustained annual operating funds, we have identified several initiatives where larger investments would move IPR toward some of our long-term goals. Impact gifts of $5,000 or greater help us build for the future of public media.

IPR Fellowship & Intern Fund

Cultivate the next generation of journalists and public radio professionals. Fellowships and internships bring fresh perspectives into our organization and build a strong pipeline of talent for the future of public media.

Sponsor a Fellowship: $50,000 annually

Endow a Fellowship in Perpetuity: $1,000,000

The Journalism Impact Fund

Ensure our newsroom has the resources and flexibility to react to urgent events, cover local and state elections, and respond to opportunities as they emerge.

Suggested Gift: $10,000 (Over 2 years)

The Innovation Fund

This special funding enables the IPR team to collaborate, experiment, and launch new ideas without the fear of failure. The fund supports new, local programs or content and new ways of connecting with the many audiences we serve. Past Innovation Fund projects include:

• Studio One All Access, a local music show, newsletter and live music series
• Newsletters like Garden Variety, Political Sense, and Chatter
• Audience surveys that inform programming
• Expansions of the Talk of Iowa Book Club
• An all-new 24/7 Studio One music service

Suggested Gift: $5,000–$10,000

Classical Music

Carry on the traditions of classical music to inspire the next generation. The Charlotte and Fred Hubbell Classical Fund sustains annual operations for our statewide classical service, which includes a mix of national programming and locally-produced performances are heard on the air, on the web, and in the Iowa Public Radio app.
