IRAs, Stock Transfers, Donor Advised Funds and Family Foundations are common ways members choose to use financial assets when deciding to support IPR. We recommend you speak to a trusted advisor to help determine if any of the following options are a good fit for you.
- IRA Distributions: Individuals who are 70 1/2 or older have the option to make charitable contributions directly from their IRA accounts to organizations they care about. Additional information can be found on our IRA Distribution resource page.
- Stock Transfers: A gift of appreciated stock can provide funding for IPR and may possibly provide a tax benefit to you as well. Please consult your tax advisor as to how this might work for your unique tax situation. Visit Gifts of Stock for more detailed instructions on how to give stock and for the necessary information to complete a transfer.
- Donor Advised Funds and Family Foundations: If you or your family members have established a donor advised fund or a family foundation, you can direct annual gifts to Iowa Public Radio or designate IPR as a beneficiary in the future. Talk with your fund administrator about your interest in distributing funds to IPR.
- Planned Gifts: Many IPR members have chosen to include IPR as a beneficiary in their estate plans and make a lasting commitment to public radio. A future gift set up in your will, trust or other retirement policy ensures you leave a legacy of enriching the civic and cultural lives of Iowans well into the future. Visit Planned Giving to learn how you can support the growth of Iowa Public Radio for years to come.
If you are considering making a significant commitment, we welcome the opportunity to work with you personally. Together, we can identify any specific areas of interest in which you may want to make an impact and how to best recognize you for your generosity. If interested, you can review our Donor Recognition Guidelines for On-Air Recognition.
