The John Deere Foundation's farm-to-plate initiative includes $17 million for Feeding America partner food banks and $1.5 million for The Farmlink Project, which rescues surplus produce from farms that would otherwise go to waste. Several food banks in Iowa plan to scale-up purchases from nearby farms with the additional funding.
