Help Us Cover Voting Issues In Iowa

Iowa Public Radio has joined ProPublica’s "Electionland" collaboration to look out for and report on problems Iowans may face when voting in the 2020 election. You can help us by sharing information about your voting experience.

Iowa Public Radio has joined ProPublica’s "Electionland" collaboration to look out for and report on problems Iowans may face when voting in the 2020 election.

This is Iowa's first presidential election with a voter ID law, many Iowans with felony convictions recently had their voting rights restored, and the coronavirus pandemic has led to a spike in absentee voting and a reduction in voting sites.

We will be on the lookout for any problems that prevent people from voting—such as absentee ballot delivery problems, long lines, voter registration issues, and voter intimidation.

You can help us.

To let us know how your voting experience goes, here’s how to sign up and get in touch:

  • SMS: Text the word VOTE, VOTA (for Spanish) or 投票 (for Chinese) to 81380 (standard text message rates apply).
  • WhatsApp: Send the word VOTE, VOTA (for Spanish) or 投票 (for Chinese) to 1-850-909-8683.
  • Facebook Messenger: Go to m.me/electionland.
  • Complete this form to share your election experience with us so ProPublica and our partners can investigate.

You can also sign up before you vote, and you’ll get a message on Election Day asking about your voting experience.
