Condition of the State

In her 8th annual address, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds proposed ideas for boosting the state’s health care workforce, asked lawmakers to restrict cell phones in classrooms, and said she will ask for federal permission to establish Medicaid work requirements.

The governor proposed enacting a 3.5% flat income tax in 2025, raising minimum salaries for teachers and overhauling special education services during her seventh Condition of the State Address.

In her 6th Condition of the State address, Gov. Kim Reynolds called for universal state-funded private school scholarships, more funding for new parents and harsher penalties for fentanyl-related crimes.
