President Obama Makes Historic Deal with China on Carbon Emissions

A historic deal regarding carbon emissions has been reached between China and the U.S.  Is it realistic?

According to Tim Hagle, maybe not. In order to meet those goals, Congress might have to pass new legislation with regards to greenhouse gas emissions. “President Obama will have to make his case… presumed incoming Majority Leader Mitch McConnell doesn’t seem to think this is such a good idea.”

During this episode of River to River host Ben Kieffer talks with Wanye Moyer, Rosenfield Professor of Political Science at Grinnell College and Tim Hagle, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Iowa. They provide analysis on the new deal with China, the lame-duck session in Congress, and how the new Senate might work with, or against, the President.
