Liszt in the Graveyard: Franz Liszt wrote his piano piece called "Funeral" shortly after Frederic Chopin died. He even made a musical reference to Chopin in the piece. We'll hear it performed by pianist Janina Fialkowska (yah-NEE-nah fee-ahl-KAWF-skah) at a concert this summer at the Mannes (MAN-ess) College of Music in New York. From that same concert, Fialkowska also performs three etudes by Frederic Chopin: the Etude in A-flat Op. 10, No. 10; the Etude in G-sharp minor, Op. 25, No. 6, and the Etude in F, Op. 10, No. 8. Royal Fiddles in Troy: One of America's finest concert halls, the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, New York, celebrated its 125th anniversary in April.
