Handel's Birds: We'll hear a concert performance from the Canadian group called Les Violons du Roy (lay vee-oh-loh(n) doo RWAH), or The King's Violins. It's the Concerto Grosso in F, Op. 6, No. 9, by Handel. They played it March 22nd at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor. The second movement features some musical bird calls. Pletnev's Chopin: It's a pair of luminous miniatures by Frederic Chopin. Pianist Mikhail Pletnev (MEEK-heyel PLET-nyeff) plays the E-minor Waltz that Chopin wrote in 1830. He also plays the Etude in G-sharp minor, Op. 25, No. 6--the so-called "Black Key" etude. (DG 453 456-2)
