The newest White House Coronavirus Task Force report says nearly all of Iowa's counties have moderate to high levels of community transmission.

The newest White House Coronavirus Task Force Report put Iowa in the red zone for new coronavirus cases and test positivity rates last week.

The newest report says Iowa has moderate to high transmission in 97 percent of its counties with more than half the state’s counties in the category with high transmission levels.

The report is dated Sunday and was obtained by ABC News.

It still places Iowa in the red zone for new cases. It had the tenth highest rate in the country last week.

The report says all indicators of community spread are increasing, and this spread is increasing hospital admissions.

Iowa has experienced a surge in COVID-19 hospitalizations in the past month, setting new record levels multiple times in the past week.

The report recommends limiting social gatherings, as the cooler weather is driving people indoors significantly increasing transmission. And increasing mitigation efforts like wearing masks and social distancing.
