Juneau Forms COVID-19 Conservation Corps, Putting Some Seasonal Workers Back On The Job

Alaska’s cruise industry came to a grinding halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to the loss of many seasonal jobs. So Juneau voted to use federal CARES Act funds to create a Depression-era style Conservation Corps.

As Adelyn Baxter of KTOO reports, the corps is making bike trails and improving hiking trail access, which puts some people back to work.
