Mark Simmet
Senior Producer and Studio One HostMark Simmet has been with Iowa Public Radio since he began working at KUNI in 1987. Over the years he has produced and hosted a long-running daily jazz program, as well as weekly blues, folk and world music programs. Mark's main on-air work has been perfecting IPR's unique blend of musical styles as a host and producer of Studio One Tracks. He also reviews all new submissions to IPR’s Studio One music library, deciding on Featured Release artists and reporting on music being aired to record companies, promoters and trade publications.
In addition to having interviewed countless musicians, Mark writes regularly for IPR's website.
Mark has a bachelor’s degree in Art from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN, and finds that his creative skills are very applicable to his work sculpting Studio One. You can contact Mark at msimmet@iowapublicradio.org.
