When The Beatles exploded onto the international music scene in 1963 - 1964 they changed popular music forever. One of the geniuses behind the music was John Lennon whose voice was silenced in 1980 when he was murdered just outside his apartment building in New York City.

On this edition of Talk of Iowa, host Charity Nebbe invites Bob Dorr, host of Beatles Medley and Backtracks on IPR, to talk about the 40th anniversary of that grim day, along with Lennon’s legacy and work.

You can hear Beatles Medley, Sunday evenings at 6:30 PM, and Backtracks, Saturday and Sunday afternoons on IPR Studio One.
