How To Be Perfect Like Me

This program originally aired on 9/6/2018.

Dana Bowman shared her recovery with the world in her first book, Bottled: A Mom’s Guide to Early Recovery, but that wasn’t the end of the story. Her latest book tells the story of her relapse and her discovery that recovery is about much more than not drinking.

"You know, we can be moms from all different places," she says. "I hear from people all over. People with very disparate life experiences, and it doesn't matter. They say, 'Your story is my story.'"

During this hour of Talk of Iowa, she talks with host Charity Nebbe about her new book How to Be Perfect Like Me.

Later in the hour, we hear from Danielle Feinbergabout her work on the movies Finding NemoBrave, Coco, and A Bug's Life. She is lighting director at Pixar animation studios and is speaking at Iowa State University tis evening.
