If there's a thing German composer Max Reger (RAY-ger) is remembered for, it's probably his ability to turn a simple melody by another composer into a vast, romantic soundscape for full orchestra. That's what he did with a simple tune by Mozart, in his Variations on a Theme of Mozart, Op. 132. We hear the Saarbrucken Radio Symphony in concert, conducted by Christoph Poppen.
