One of the biggest difference of agreement between the Iowa House and Senate is funding for regents universities: The University of Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa. House Republicans want to give no funding increase, while not replacing the $8 million dollars the legislature cut last year. They also want to freeze tuition and fees. Senate Republicans want to replace the $8 million cut. Both of those fall far short of the increase the universities asked for. Another big budget difference is prison funding.
