  • Kreisler's vibe: Percussionist Evelyn Glennie has played with Gamelan orchestras in Java, Samba bands in Brazil, and Kodo ensembles in Japan. We'll hear her ear-opening rendition of a classic of the violin recital repertoire--the "Praeludium (pray-LOO-dyoom) and Allegro" by Fritz Kreisler. Pianist Philip Smith accompanies her at the piano.   • We're devoting this hour to the music of three 20th-century American composers--Charles Ives, Anthony DiLorenzo (dee loh-REN-zoh) and Samuel Barber. We begin with Ives, who is widely regarded today as the founder of the modern American musical tradition. Ives was a cutting edge composer who began experimenting with such modern techniques as bi-tonality and polyrhythms long before they became fashionable. He was also an early champion of ragtime.
