The nonpartisan Legislative Services Agency released redistricting maps last week that, if approved by the Iowa Legislature, would make dramatic changes to congressional and legislative districts.
Members of the public can express their opinions about the proposed maps at a series of three virtual public hearings held by the Temporary Redistricting Advisory Commission.
The first hearing is Monday, Sept. 20, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Those who wish to speak during Monday's public hearing can sign up at this link until 5:00 p.m. Monday. The same link can be used to submit written comments.
The second hearing is Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Those who wish to speak during Tuesday's public hearing can sign up at this link until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. The same link can be used to submit written comments.
The third hearing is Wednesday, Sept. 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Those who wish to speak during Wednesday's public hearing can sign up at this link until 4:00 p.m. Wednesday. The same link can be used to submit written comments.

Comments from the public hearings will be summarized in a report by the Temporary Redistricting Advisory Commission, which will send the report to the Iowa Legislature. State lawmakers will vote to approve or reject the proposed maps in a special legislative session that is scheduled to begin Oct. 5.
