Sunfall Festival: 'I Walked Away'
Sunfall Festival formed almost ten years ago. Amy was just a teen, but her voice and lyrics were mature beyond her years. She'd been writing songs and holding secret concerts in her closet since she was six.
A few years ago half a million online users voted Sunfall Festival to No. 1 out of 30,000 bands on a music promotion website, showing the band their music appealed to a wider audience than the musicians originally imagined. Like many sad rock tales go, the website label folded, and they never saw a penny of a promised $250,000 advance and ended up recording the album on their own dime with producer Paul Fox (Bjork, 10,000 Maniacs, XTC, Phish).
Doing the record on their own ended up being the best path for Sunfall Festival. They enjoy sharing their music online, worldwide, while living their lives they way the band wants. The featured cut from their CD Monday 23 is "I Walked Away."
