Eric Whitacre is a 36-year-old American composer who has fallen into the world of choral music, almost by accident. Fred Child talks with Whitacre about the composer's unusual compositions, and we hear three of them: first, “This Marriage” and “Go Lovely Rose” sung by Polyphony, under the direction of Stephen Layton. And finally, “A Boy and a Girl” from a concert performance by the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, directed by Linda Mack.
