Haydn's Frog

As nicknames for Haydn's pieces go, it's not one of the more elegant. Still, Haydn's "Frog" Quartet is a lovely work, whose second movement is especially well known. The nickname alludes to a technique Haydn requires of the players in the last movement: playing a single note on alternate strings. Someone thought the rapid bow movements looked like a frog's leaps.
