Cas Haley Invites "All The Right People" To Join Him Sunday At xBk

Texas singer-songwriter Cas Haley is keeping it in the family for his latest album, "All The Right People."

After the former America’s Got Talent runner-up won Lincoln Motor Company’s “Chart Your Course” competition in 2019, Haley was sent on a journey to work on his music with creators including Matthew McConaughey, Ruthie Foster, Tank of Tank and the Bangas, the Cha Wa Band and more. He ended up at a Capitol Records studio, where he recorded a special version of the final track of his new album, “Every Road I’m On,” with legendary producer Al Schmitt.

“It was incredible. Then 2020 hit and changed a lot of the plans for that. That was also right around the time we were recording 'All The Right People,'” Haley said.

“'All The Right People' was supposed to come out in 2020, along with this campaign that revolved around our family and around our song, ‘Every Road I’m On.’ ‘Every Road I’m On’ is actually on 'All The Right People' [...] It was a really magical sequence of events that was completely out of left field.”

"All The Right People" highlights Haley’s artistic focus on the important things in life: his wife Cassy, his songwriting collaborator who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2018; and his two children, Eben and Nolah.

Eben, age 14, has supported his father on the bass guitar throughout this latest tour. Haley’s 11-year-old daughter Nolah has also been involved in their family’s music-making on the fiddle.

“It’s been a cool evolution of things, from being lonely on the road with a bunch of dudes and yourself, and then trying to reinvent this thing and say, ‘You know what? I don’t want to do that anymore,’” Haley said. “I want to try to do it my way and just go out and not leave my kids at home so much and try to find balance between the two.”

Cas Haley will be playing a concert in Des Moines this Sunday at xBk, supported by Minneapolis artist Jonny Wayne. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available online.
