Courtney Barnett is in the forefront of the latest wave of artists and bands from Australia. One could argue that she is also a shining light among female musicians and songwriters. It's hard to be totally original, but since she started to attract notice in the U.S. a couple of years ago, Barnett's style seems to be influencing more than a few artists who hope to have her impact. On her new album, Tell Me How You Really Feel, Courtney Barnett tells us how she feels about all the attention. One of the tracks is titled "Crippling Self-Doubt and a General Lack of Confidence," and that indicates the kind of self-effacing frankness we have come to expect from the guitarist and vocalist.
