All Access Live! will broadcast live, local music in front of an in-person audience at xBk, Octopus College Hill and Raccoon Motel in 2022.

Friends, I’ve been keeping this concert series announcement a secret for months, and I’m SO excited to finally get to tell you about it. As live music has returned to Iowa with COVID-19 protocols in place, IPR Studio One is breathing new life into our live music series.

About All Access Live!

All Access Live! got its start at the Des Moines Social Club in The Basement as a series called Studio One Underground in 2015. In 2020, we moved the series to xBk when the Des Moines Social Club closed.

It’s always been fun for us to broadcast these concerts from an independent venue and take our music discovery mission out of the studio. New for this year, we’re also looking forward to the series moving around the state.

In 2022, we’ll host several of the shows in Des Moines at xBk, but we’re also branching out and traveling to Cedar Falls and Davenport (If you’re a venue owner interested in hosting a concert for our 2023 series, email Studio One at studioone@iowapublicradio.org).

"More than anything over the past two years, I've missed this series,” says Studio One host Tony Dehner. “It's a big part of our mission to encourage music discovery and to support local bands, and we have been limited in our ability to do so with this series over the last two years. I'm excited to get out and see everyone again and literally get this show on the road!”

2022 lineup

This year, we’re excited to present several female-led bands, as well as Bridges2Harmoney Gospel Choir and a world music set from a 9-piece Latin band from Des Moines.

"This series is designed to go hand in hand with our Studio One All Access show. The show, and the live series, is IPR's attempt to put our listeners in the best seats in the house. I'm excited about every band in the lineup!" says Music Program Director Al Schares.
