Investigators say that officers shot and killed a man in Iowa Falls Wednesday morning, following a request for assistance from a woman who said he was stalking her. According to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, officers responded to the call near Rock Run Elementary School, where the man reportedly drove his car into the woman’s car.

Cedar Rapids police have arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly killing both of his parents. According to a criminal complaint, the teen told officers he killed his parents with a knife and an ax in order to “take charge of his life."

Two companies in Iowa are now turning to incarcerated individuals to meet their workforce needs. This month the board of Iowa Prison Industries approved two new contracts with Diamond Crystal Brands and Timberline Manufacturing to hire women currently serving time at the prison in Mitchellville.
