“Little Faith” Explores Friendship, Faith And Longing For Community

IPR

For the May meeting of the Talk of Iowa Book Club, we've been reading “Little Faith," by Nickolas Butler. In the book, Butler explores family, friendship, faith and our longing for community — a longing that can have terrible consequences.

"Little Faith" is a novel inspired by real-life tragedy from the death of a child in Wisconsin that prompted Butler to question honesty, and empathy, all while painting a portrait of a Midwestern community and family. Host Charity Nebbe speaks with author Nickolas Butler and two expert readers, Marcus Burke and Rebekah Tilley.

You can also chat about book club selections and other literary interests with Charity and hundreds of other readers in the Talk of Iowa Book Club Facebook Group.

Guests:

  • Nickolas Butler, author
  • Marcus Burke, author
  • Rebekah Tilley, Iowa City
