Life As An ICU Nurse During The Pandemic

Courtesy of Kendle Demery
Kendle Demery has been working in the intensive care unit at the University of Iowa Hospital and clinics since 2011.

Originally a theatre and dance major at the University of Iowa, Kendle Demery felt compelled to switch her major to nursing. She's never second guessed that choice. And since August 2011, she has been a nurse in the intensive care unit at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

On this Talk of Iowa podcast, host Charity Nebbe speaks with Demery about the challenges of being a nurse in the intensive care unit and how she felt after receiving the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
