“We’re often building in areas where existing trees are already there, but sometimes we forget what our actions may do to those trees.” – Mark Vitosh, DNR forester ";s:3:"u

Even though many parts of life have slowed down lately, construction work continues to move forward. But building new houses, adding additions, patios, decks, and sidewalks might affect existing trees.

On this edition of Talk of Iowa, host Charity Nebbe speaks with DNR Forester Mark Vitosh and Iowa State University Extension horticulturist Richard Jauron about protecting established trees in construction zones. They also answer listeners' questions about plants and caring for trees.

Guests:

  • Mark Vitosh, DNR forester
  • Richard Jauron, Extension horticulture specialist at Iowa State University
