More people than ever are enjoying Iowa's trails and waterways, but because of state funding cuts, there are Iowans concerned about the future of those waterways. In this Talk of Iowa, Charity Nebbe talks with Brian Morelli, Gazette Reporter who recently examined this issue in "An Unclear Path for Outdoor Recreation."
"People don't necessarily think of Iowa for all its outdoor amenities," says Morelli, but he adds that the Iowa Tourism Bureau's information shows that people visiting are taking advantage of those amenities.
Nebbe also learns how people are using these recreational spaces from the president of Back Water Paddlers, Ruth Dunlevy, and executive director of Iowa Rivers Revival, Molly Hanson.
In the last part of the program, Eric Straw talks about his goal of canoeing all 50 states to raise money for American Rivers.
