Red Moon: Animal Borne Pathogens and Good Old Fashioned Horror

Fred Locklear

Benjamin Percy's novel Red Moon is a coming of age story, with razor sharp political commentary, an inventive rewriting of human history, the science of animal borne pathogens, and good old fashioned horror.

Host Charity Nebbe and Percy discuss his arduous research process which took him to the veterinary labs of Iowa State University and taxidermy shops.

Later in the hour Ethan Rutherford joins the conversation to discuss his new collection of short stories, The Peripatetic Coffin and Other Stories.  The collection contains eight short stories which explore the theme of human isolation while at the same time blending the boundaries of reality and fantasy.

Charity Nebbe is the host of IPR's Talk of Iowa
