Memory Loss and Caretakers

Working Group Theatre

When Alzheimer's disease robs someone of their memory, it's not just that person who experiences loss.  "Talk of Iowa" explores the path of people who care for loved ones with memory loss.

We'll talk with playwright Jennifer Fawcett and producing director Martin Andrewsof "The Broken Cord," a new play that collects and preserves the stories of caretakers.  We'll also talk with Kitty Buckwalter, Co-director of the National Health Law and Policy Resource Center at the University of Iowa and Jan Petrick, who cared for her husband Ken who was afflicted with Alzheimer's.
