In this edition of River to River, host Ben Kieffer talks with political analysts Karen Kedrowski of Iowa State University and Adrienne Gathman of Simpson College about Rep. Liz Cheney's battle to keep her leadership position within the House GOP. Cheney has come under fire from her own party after calling out former President Donald Trump on Twitter for perpetuating what she called "the big lie," that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him.

They also discuss Facebook's decision to indefinitely suspend Trump's Facebook account, President Biden's setting of new vaccination targets, Kamala Harris' role within the Biden administration and the continued shift in population and political power to southern, traditionally Republican states.

Guests:
Karen Kedrowski, director of the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics, Iowa State University
Adrienne Gathman, assistant professor of political science, Simpson College
