On January 30, 2020, President Trump held a rally in Des Moines at Drake University's Knapp Center. More than 7,000 people attended the rally.

These days, political conservatives who identify as Republicans come in all stripes. There are die-hard Trump supporters, Trump supporters from 2016 who’ve changed their minds, as well as conservatives who were never on board with Trump.

Despite these differences, polls indicate President Trump enjoys the overwhelming approval of those who identify as Republicans.

On this edition of River to River, host Ben Kieffer hears from Iowa Republicans, of all types, less than three weeks before Election Day.

Guests:

Adam Sullivan, columnist, Cedar Rapids Gazette

Aaron Sewell, teacher and assistant track coach at Ankeney Community School District, Republican candidate for Iowa House District 42

Althea Cole, politically involved conservative voter who lives in Cedar Rapids

Darcy Maulsby, Iowa storyteller, and fifth-generation farmer

Doug Gross, attorney, and farmer based in Des Moines, Iowa Republican gubernatorial nominee in 2002
