River to River continues our series of interviews with congressional candidates with State Senator Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who is vying to replace retiring Congressman Dave Loebsack in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District. She faces former State Senator Rita Hart.

Today, we welcome the Republican candidate from Iowa’s 2nd District, state senator Marianette Miller-Meeks.

There is no incumbent in this race. The current occupant of the 2nd District seat, Congressman Dave Loebsack, is retiring. The seat is rated as a tossup by the Cook Political Report.

Iowa's 2nd Congressional District includes much of the state's southeastern counties as well as the cities of Davenport, Iowa City, Coralville, Muscatine, Clinton, Burlington, Ottumwa, Fort Madison, Oskaloosa, Bettendorf, Newton and Pella.
