Orchestras and music programs across Iowa have been unable to find a safe way to host audiences.

Theaters and live entertainment venues in Cedar Rapids have been doing their best to create safe, outdoor event experiences. Diana Nollen of the Gazette joins River to River host Ben Kieffer to talk about what it's been like at these events and how people in the industry have been getting creative to try and generate business.

Even when outside-the-box thinking allows performances to happen, staff members are having to work multiple jobs at once during events, which are limited in capacity and size. So much uncertainty and the inevitable winter is forcing the arts community to channel its creative side unlike ever before.

Guest:

Diana Nollen, arts and entertainment reporter, Cedar Rapids Gazette
