Understanding Latino Communities In The Midwest

In 2016, there were 43.7 million immigrants in the United States, 13.5% of the total population.

In this edition of River to River, host Ben Kieffer examines the historical roots of Latinos living in the heart of the country. Kieffer is joined by Rene Rocha, professor of political science at the University of Iowa,  to discuss migration and the Abolish ICE movement. 

Joe Enriquez Henry joins the conversation by identifing the pockets of Latina/o/x communities in Iowa, and Darrel Wanzer-Serrano speaks about a symposium in Latina/o/x perspectives through the project Imagining Latinidades: Articulations of National Belonging.
