Legions Expected at Harkin Steak Fry

Harkin Campaign Office
Tom Harkin poses with an attendee of his annual steak fry in 1990

Former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton returns to Iowa this weekend. She and husband, President Bill Clinton, are the headliners at the 2014 Harkin Steak Fry.

Clinton was last in Iowa to concede defeat in the 2008 Iowa Caucuses.

The Harkin Steak Fry has been an annual fundraising event since 1972.  It began on a farm in Madison County with 50 or so attendees.  Thousands were at the 2007 Harkin Steak Fry when Clinton spoke alongside many other Democratic presidential hopefuls.  It's anyone's guess how many will be there Sunday.  Host Ben Kieffer talks with O. Kay Henderson, News Director for Radio Iowa, about the history of the event and what she expects from this final steak fry.  Harkin has announced his retirement.
