Women and the Race for the Presidency

A historic number of women are running for the 2020 Democratic Party nomination.

On this episode of River to River, Karen Kedrowski, the director of the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women in Politics at Iowa State University, joins Ben Kieffer to talk about how female candidates are working to stand out from the crowd.

And as the presidential race kicks off, so has the race for Congress. Gazette Politics Reporter James Lynch and University of Northern Iowa politics professor Christopher Larimer discuss the four democrats planning to run against current Sen. Joni Ernst and other races. Later in the program, the pair also consider the vulnerability of Rep. Steve King's seat in Iowa's fourth congressional district.
