After more than a dozen years in Congress, Rep. Dave Loebsack has announced his retirement.

In this episode of River to River, Ben Kieffer talks with political analysts, Wayne Moyer of Grinnell College and Dave Andersen of Iowa State University, about what that open House seat may mean for control of Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District.

They also discuss what to watch for when the Mueller report is released tomorrow, why “sanctuary cities” are back in the news, and how “Mayor Pete” Buttigieg has emerged out of nowhere and risen in the polls both in Iowa and New Hampshire.

IPR reporter Grant Gerlock also joins to discuss Buttigieg's recent visit to Iowa.
