Summer Hoops With Megan Gustafson, Brandon Hurley and Izaah Knox

The city of Toronto and the nation of Canada have reason for celebration with the Raptors winning their first NBA championship this year, and so does Iowa. Raptors head coach Nick Nurse is a Carroll native who worked his way to the top of the game, and now he has a ring to show for it.

On this basketball-centric edition of Talk of Iowa, host Charity Nebbe gets a hometown perspective on Nurse from someone whose been covering him for months, Brandon Hurley of the Carroll Times Harold. 

Later on in the program we switch from the NBA to the playground with a look the Des Moines Summer City Hoops Tournament, a program aimed at bringing youth, adults, and law enforcemnt together with basketball and community engagement. We Talk with Izaah Knox, Executive Director for the group behind the program, Urban Dreams

Charity wraps up the show interviewing the 2019 Naismith and Associated Press Women's College Player of the Year Meagan Gustoffson, who lead her Hawkeye basketball team to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tounament. She's now playing for the Dallas Wings of the WNBA.
