12/6/12  4:30 PM UPDATE:

The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Department says they're confident that two bodies discovered Wednesday by hunters in a Bremer County wildlife area are those of Elizabeth Collins and her cousin Lyric Cook-Morrissey.

"We have no one else that’s missing in this area, we have two bodies that were found, smaller in stature, so we have nothing to think other than that at this time," Sheriff’s Captain Rick Abben said.

Lyric Cook-Morrissey and her cousin Elizabeth Collins have been missing since July 13th, when they were last seen riding their bicycles. They were 8 and 10 when they went missing and had birthdays since they disappeared.

“Law enforcement was notified by hunters that they had discovered two deceased bodies in a wooded areas," Abben said at a Wednesday press conference. "The Cook and Collins family have been notified of this discovery.”

The remains were transported to the state’s medical examiner in Ankeny for positive identification. Law enforcement is still waiting for an official autopsies.
