The global pandemic has changed how we think about leisure, a concept that has radically changed over time.

The COVID-19 pandemic has radically changed two important parts of life for almost every adult in the United States -- our relationships with work and leisure time.

On this episode of Talk of Iowa, Charity Nebbe speaks with two men who study how we work and how we play.

Rodney Dieser of the University of Northern Iowa joins the conversation to talk about how to get the most out of our leisure time while social distancing. Then, Benjamin Hunnicutt, a historian and professor at the University of Iowa, talks about how our relationship with work was changing before the pandemic, and how this crisis may impact the future of work.

Guests:

Ben Hunnicutt, professor, University of Iowa department of health and human physiology

Rod Dieser, professor, University of Northern Iowa department of recreation, tourism and non-profit leadership
