Nick Nurse On His Career And The Future Of Basketball

As a basketball player from Carroll, he helped the 1985 Kuemper Catholic High School team win the state high school basketball championship. Last year, as head coach, Nick Nurse led the Toronto Raptors to their first NBA championship.

On this edition of Talk of Iowa, Charity Nebbe speaks with Nurse about his coaching career, which includes stops at the University of Northern Iowa, (following a successful playing career with the panthers,) the University of South Daktoa, the British Basketball League, the Iowa Energy (now the Iowa Wolves of the NBA's G-League) and more.

Nurse also reflects on how his life has changed since the start of the pandemic, the future of the NBA and how two of his Raptor assistant coaches, also native Iowans, came to join his staff.
