Chris Currey specializes in greenhouse production and answers listener questions on growing vegetables at home.

The new crisis the world is facing is reviving an old idea: The Victory Garden.

Victory gardens first emerged during World War I, and in World War II Americans were once again urged to plant gardens to provide food for their families and neighbors.

On this ‘Horticulture Day’ edition of Talk of Iowa, host Charity Nebbe speaks with Chris Currey, an associate professor of Horticulture at ISU, and Richard Jauron, an ISU Extension Horticulture specialist. Within the hour, Currey and Jauron talk about greenhouse production, provide advice for new gardeners and they answer listener questions about orchids.

Guests:

  • Chris Currey, associate professor of Horticulture at Iowa State University
  • Richard Jauron, Iowa State University Extension Horticulture Specialist
