It has decided the fates of empires and nations and determined the trajectory of the world's economy. It has steered and shaped our history at roughly the size and weight of a grape seed.
On this hour of River to River, host Ben Kieffer talks with Timothy Winegard about his new book "The Mosquito: A Human History of Our Dealiest Predator" and the historical impact of the mosquito dating back to its contribution to the extinction of dinosaurs.
Timothy Winegard is a professor of History and Political Science at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colo. and is a veteran of the Canadian Army.
