Loebsack Says He Is Waiting For Articles Of Impeachment To Pass Judgment On Inquiry

Dec 9, 2019

Longtime Democratic Congressman Dave Loesbsack says he believes President Donald Trump has committed serious abuses of power. Still, the seven term Representative and retired political science professor says he’ll wait to see the articles of impeachment before deciding how he would vote.

“My biggest concern as a citizen of the country is that we do our best not to allow what Donald Trump has done to be some kind of a precedent for future presidents. And I think the impeachment process is a way that we can do that even if he is acquitted," Loebsack said in Mt. Vernon over the weekend at an event where he introduced South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

The House Judiciary Committee is meeting Monday to formally receive the evidence against the president as they draw up potential articles.
