'Talk of Iowa' is producing a series of shows for learners of all ages about Iowa wildlife and Iowa history while schools are closed due to the novel coronavirus.

Iowa Public Radio listeners love to learn. While schools are closed, we're creating a series of  "Talk of Iowa" episodes that will be fun and educational for learners of all ages.

Every Tuesday wildlife biologist Jim Pease and others will teach us about Iowa’s wild creatures and wild places.

During the live broadcast of Talk of Iowa from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. CT on Tuesdays and Thursdays, listeners of all ages are welcome to call to ask questions at 1-866-780-9100.

On Thursdays we’ll learn about Iowa History with Iowa historians.

The first show was about the birds you’ll see in Iowa in March. Listen to that episode here.

During the live broadcast of Talk of Iowa from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. CT on Tuesdays and Thursdays, listeners of all ages are welcome to call to ask questions and share their observations at 1-866-780-9100.

We’re going to be posting the recorded episodes of each show online with three vocabulary words, photos and three discussion questions.
