Java Blend LIVE Event: EmJay 12/6

Emjay
EmJay

On Friday, Dec. 6,  at 2 PM at Iowa City's downtown Java House, IPR Studio One's Ben Kieffer will host a special hour of "Java Blend" with EmJay.

Ben Kieffer will chat with EmJay about her experience coming from the Quad City music scene, and the band will also perform a live 50-minute set. This program is free and open to the public!

EmJay is a female-fronted neo-soul/groove group.  Emily "EmJay" Jawoisz has been performing and recording for over thirteen years. She recently earned her Associate of Arts degree in Psychology and Music Theory with the goal of becoming a music therapist.

EmJay has played several well-known venues, including the Quad Cities' famed Redstone Room and the Iowa Women's Music Festival, and has grown a large fan base in the Quad Cities area. She recently left her roots for a 9 month cross country tour spanning from her hometown Rock Island, Illinois to New Mexico, Arizona, and most recently, California.  There, she gained a solid following, and shared the stage with musicians belonging to Santana, The Steve Miller Band, and even opened for the hip/hop rock group the Flobots. EmJay's music can be recognized by solid bass grooves, intricate piano licks as well as soulful vocals and bold lyrics.

This program will air on IPR Studio One Saturday, Dec. 28 at 2 PM. Stay tuned for more Java Blend!
