Iowa Talent Represented In NPR Tiny Desk Concert Contest

NPR Tiny Desk Concerts are intimate video performances, recorded live at the desk of All Songs Considered host, Bob Boilen.  Boilen's desk is located at NPR headquarters in Washington, DC.  Past performers have included Lucinda Williams, Rubblebucket, St Paul and The Broken Bones, J. Mascis, Tweedy, Pixies, Neko Case and many more!

The NPR Tiny Desk Concert Contest has raised a lot of excitement among musicians hoping to win and play at the desk.  The submission period for the contest closed on Jan. 19.  A distinguished panel of judges- Bob Boilen, Robin Hilton, Valerie June, Reggie Watts, Thao Nguyen and John Congleton- will determine the winner, with the announcement made on Feb. 12.  It's great to see a musically varied selection of Iowa bands representing the Hawkeye state in the contest!

Check out Casey Erixon's rundown of Iowa submissions in his post at dsmshows.com, the Iowa concert resource site.
