With 100-year and 500-year floods happening in Iowa with increasing frequency, it’s important to understand how the state's ecology and infrastructure interact with rising water.

On this edition of Talk of Iowa, host Charity Nebbe discusses wildlife and wetlands with Iowa DNR fisheries biologist Scott Gritters and Iowa State University Extension wildlife specialist Adam Janke.  They talk about how flooding events at different times of the year affect wildlife, ecology and water quality; they discuss how healthy wetlands can lessen the impact of flooding; and they look at some of the other ways climate change is influencing Iowa wildlife.
